Support: Scholarship
Samara B.

When I first heard the wordsÌý“Human Services,†I wasn’t sure they were meant for me. It took sitting in that first class, hearing stories that mirrored my own, to realize I’d found more than a major—I’d found my purpose. Helping others isn’t just something I care about. It’s something I understand deeply.
As a single mother, my days are full. Balancing education and motherhood isn’t easy. But in the quiet hours—after homework is done and the house is still—I study. I dream. I believe in a future that’s bigger than the struggles behind me.
If you asked me who my mentor was, I’d have to say: it’s me. The version of me who didn’t give up, even when no one was watching. The one who decided that being thoughtful, kind, and present mattered.
This scholarship reminded me that I’m not walking alone. That single mothers—often overlooked—do matter. That someone believes in what I’m building, not just for myself, but for the people I hope to serve.
Support like this doesn’t just lift burdens—it restores hope. And that kind of hope can change everything.
Thank you for helping those who need the most support. Single mothers endure a lot, and your kindness and generosity mean more than words can express. Your help is Ìýtruly appreciated.
